Is it real or is it fake?
File this one under C for “creepy”. New animation techniques and technologies are allowing animators to produce close to photo-realistic characters.
TimesOnline reports on Emily a new and highly detailed digital character modelled on a real woman. While this is technology is hardly unexpected or new, it is truly amazing how real this “character” is in terms of movement, gestures and look. Mix this with the photo-realistic virtual world technology I blogged about here and you have the Matrix… Do you choose the red pill or the blue pill?

Okay,,,,,,,,,very cool but more than a little scarey.
Coincidental that they used Emily? Is this the Emily of Bell customer service fame?

not sure about the Bell model, but yes…this is creepy. Just think…this is at a level of production that it’s being demoed. Just imagine what is out there in innovation and research labs all over the planet.
